Christians in the workplace (RUNNN!!!).

How should we as Christian act in the workplace? Should we walk around with our bibles in our hands knocking people over the head with scriptures? Or should we seclude ourselves from the “heathens” at lunchtime, and sit in the “Jesus is Lord” section of the break room? What would Jesus do? Let’s take a look at how Jesus Christ handled these situations; Turn with me to Matthew 9 starting at verse 10, and reading to verse 13(MSG)
It reads: 10-11Later when Jesus was eating supper at Matthew's house with his close followers, a lot of disreputable characters came and joined them. When the Pharisees saw him keeping this kind of company, they had a fit, and lit into Jesus' followers. "What kind of example is this from your Teacher, acting cozy with crooks and riffraff?"  12-13Jesus, overhearing, shot back, "Who needs a doctor: the healthy or the sick? Go figure out what this Scripture means: 'I'm after mercy, not religion.' I'm here to invite outsiders, not coddle insiders."
Wow! The Lord really gives us a perfect example as to how we should act towards non-believers; by showing mercy not religion. Just the other day the Lord opens up an unusual door for me to really get to know the heart of my boss.  She came to me and asks if I could be interviewed by her, which would help her with a homework assignment she came back with from her Management Training. I respond “sure” with no hesitation, but little did I know I was going to take a step into the past of my boss’s life. During the interview she asks me typical questions like “What is your full name?” “Where were you born?” The point of the interview was to get to know me personally.
She then asks a more profound question like “What event happened in your life that changed the course of your life forever?” After thinking for a while I responded with the “the sudden death of my father.” Now, we all know that God works in mysterious ways, so with that being said my boss begins to share her personal answer with me while she was being interviewed at the practice training session. The event that changed the course of her life was being a teen mom; from there on it was a non-stop spill of her life’s journey.
You never know why people really act the way they do, unless you really take the time to see why. I’m learning this by really listening to the stories of others; which allows them to give their hearts a voice. I believe that is exactly what Christ was doing while eating dinner alongside taxes collectors, and sinners alike. I am truly convinced that Jesus Christ was getting to know the heart of each one of them who sat at the dinner table who He broke bread with. I believe that the Lord saw the completed work of who they were going to become, rather than judging them by their present condition. I believe they were amazed and shock at the different Ora that the Lord carried on him; I too would recognize the difference of a sincere person rather than a religious Pharisees; the Lord was simply a fresh breathe of air.
Are you a fresh breathe of air, or a religious Pharisees? Think about it…How do you treat that employee who everyone talks about? Do you judge or show mercy? Jesus Christ set the BEST example as to how we should respond to non-believers in the workplace and everywhere else; the bible tells us to let our light so shine before men, that they may see our good works and glorify our father in heaven (See Matthew 5:16). Use the wisdom the Lord gave you!!! I’m not giving you permission to go to the bar with them and have shots of Tequila, No!! I’m simply saying show mercy to the ones who just came back from having the shots.  As Christians we must set an example, because if you are not a where of it already, let me be the first to tell you that “people are watching you.” So I pray that this message has blessed and helped you in some way, as it did for me J Also I want to make you a where of my online bible study called “Team Relationship” coming out Mid-November on Ustream, so be praying for me that all will go well with that. Also drop me a line to let me know how the Lord has really open up your eyes, or helped you while reading my blog. I would love to hear from you!!! Until next time the Lord orders my hands to type…
Be Bless good people!!

ASK, SEEK, KNOCK

During my time of studying God’s word I received enlightenment on a scripture that we may all have heard of, or may know very well. Matthew 7:7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.” Reading this passage of scripture several times, the Holy Spirit begins to reveal to me the process in which manifestation is released; Ask, Seek, Knock. Ask, and the plan will be given unto you; Seek the plan out and then you will find the door; Knock on the door of opportunity, and it will lead you to the manifestation of the plan. Some of you readers may have already received a plan(s) from God, but have yet to take His plan to the next level; which is seeking out His plan with action, and then your door of opportunity will appear!! OK, let’s recap: You have your God-given plan, and you sought out the tools and the cost of the plan, now the door of opportunity appears and stares you right in the face.

“So what do you do next?” Here you are standing still with your book sack full of ideas and business plans, and you are allowing fear (false, evidence, appearing, real) to keep you from knocking on the door of opportunity. Wake up!! Tap into your Faith and strength to continue on by knocking on the door of your future. God sent me here to encourage you to not beat yourself up about not seeing any manifestation happening yet, just simply go to the next stage of God’s plan; Ask, Seek, Knock.  Ask for a plan, seek the wisdom and understanding as to how to carry out His plan, and make it to the finish line by knocking on the door of opportunity. And remember if the enemy tries to discourage you on not finishing strong, kindly skip down to verse 8 where it says: “For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.”

Prayer: Father I pray for the readers who have taken heed to the words of you Lord. I thank you that they may be enlightened through your word; as they ask You for a plan, and seek You for wisdom and understanding. I pray that You will provide them with the door(s) of opportunity. I thank you Lord that you are faithful to reveal your perfect will in their lives this day. Through the blood of Jesus Christ I bind the spirit of fear over their lives, and release the power of Faith. I thank you Lord for the many testimonies that will spring forth from your revealed word, and I call it done in Jesus name Amen!!!
