Day 3: Winning the Wars Within

Who’s in your corner? Although we are focusing in on how to Win the Wars Within, the company that you keep can either help you in this process, or hurt you. Have you ever had a person in your life that was negative all the time about everything? They were bitten by the “Woe it’s Me” bug. Now don’t get me wrong we may have our moments of being a pessimist at times, but I’m talking about someone who is like that every day on the hour. I'm sure having a friend like that can become very draining. Or on the other end of the spectrum you may have friends who positively encourages you to be your best truest self, even if it requires them to tell you what you need to hear instead of what you want to hear.

In a war (especially the ones within) it’s very important to know who’s on your side, and who your enemies are. You can recognize this by becoming very observant about the company that you keep. Take notice in what bucket your friends are carrying. Is it a bucket of negative fuel to keep the fire of wars within burning high, or are they running to your rescue carrying a bucket of positivity to help strengthen you to win within? Are your friends self-centered and skating on the lines of becoming a narcissist, or do they have your best interest in mind? 1 Corinthians 15:33 (ERV) reads: Don’t be fooled: “Bad friends will ruin good habits.”  The good news is that you can control the company that you keep. So my question to you today is who’s in your corner?

Day 3 Assignment: Take inventory today on the company that you keep. Write down the names of your closest friends, and the bucket that they carry to your situation. I’m a firm believer in reciprocity in any relationship, so I would like for you to write down the qualities that you bring as well to the table of your friends. Ask yourself which bucket am I carrying to my friend's situation?
